October 6th will be the 5th Annual "Pink Friday" - we invite you to paint the town pink and come out and join us for the Uplifting Designs Bra Art Show and Fundraiser.

This is a fun way that the St. Mary's Arts Council uses art to bring awareness and raise money for breast cancer screening, early detection, and cancer support programs at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. The Bra Art will be displayed at the small park to the left of Fuzzy Farmers Market in Downtown Leonardtown, guests will be able to "vote" for their favorite design by placing a cash or check donation in the pink bucket next to each bra. All proceeds will be donated to support local breast cancer programs, the artist whose bra collects the most donations will win a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

There is no charge for artists to submit a decorated piece of Bra Art, for more information about entering the contest go to: www.stmarysartscouncil.com. You may enter individually or as a team or group, decorated bras must be received no later than Tuesday, October 3rd.

Around town the shops, galleries and businesses will be open late and will offer specials for Pink Friday. Participating merchants will donate a percentage of their sales to Medstar St. Mary’s Breast Cancer outreach program.

Also, the amazing band Hook, Line & Sinker will be playing on the Square from 6-8 pm as the last Outdoor Concert for this season. The audience participation Drum Circle will be at the St. Mary's County Arts Council office, inside the Leonardtown Arts Center building at 22660 Washington St. from 8-9:30 pm - first floor.
